The law of protection of personal data (Law 81) is a law of public order that regulates the activity of the data stored of personal character. Its objective is to guarantee individuals through controlled processes, the use of their personal data.

The owner of the personal data has the authority to exercise the right of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition to the processing of their personal data.

The National Authority of Transparency and Access to Information through the Directorate of Protection Personal Data is the one that maintains the power to conduct investigations and impose sanctions to natural and / or legal persons, who violate the content of Law No. 81 of March 26, 2019. 

PKF Panama has established procedures to comply with all the requirements of Law 81 which can be investigated by ANTAI.
